Please add spaces for "locality code" (semel yishuv), and elevation above sea level. (i'm not technically capable) i will then insert the data. thx, Shilonite 13:05, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image description
Hi - there is no option for the image description. Any chance of adding one? See also Acre, Israel discussion page. -- Stbalbach 20:13, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Changes
Hi - in the hebrew version of this ifobox there is the option to put in age breakdowns for the population..i am not confident on editing the syntax here but I think it would be a great addition to this infobox. I also think that it would be good to make the heading name ie the settlement larger to make it stand out and i like the green on the israeli version. if anyone can help itd be great. thanks Flymeoutofhere 17:35, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The flag
Ok, I think this is worth talking over. I support the flag appearing in every use of the template except in Jerusalem, because its display right by the name is easily interpreted as an endorsement of the fact that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of the State of Israel. People respond to pictures much more quickly than they do to text, and will frequently not bother to even read the text once they see the flag there. So this will unnecessarily provoke them, cause harm to the article, or just waste our time on pointless political arguments with them. I don't think it's a big deal to not have the title Jerusalem surrounded by Israeli flags. nadav (talk) 09:17, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
BTW, Tewfik, on what talk page was this discussed? nadav (talk) 09:18, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- Another thing to consider is that the flag will appear on Arab villages as well. Yes, we all know that the villages are in Israel, but symbols are powerful and are hard to present with enough context (especially in a mere template). People might misinterpret the flags to mean that the Jewish symbols it contains, e.g. the Star of David, are somehow being thrust upon the Arabs. Or in Shefaram, say, they might interpret the symbol to mean that we are emphasizing only the historical Jewish aspect of the city and delegitimatizing its present-day Arab population. Thoughts? nadav (talk) 09:38, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

- The official muni logo should be used here. As for the state symbolism, I haven't seen the same arguments as above used in places where flags/emblems contain a cross or other traditional symbols. ←Humus sapiens ну? 10:39, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- I haven't seen national flags used in other city templates, so I'm not sure one is necessary here. Specifically, I'm thinking of Template:Infobox Indian Jurisdiction and Template:Infobox Prefecture Japan. -- tariqabjotu 11:52, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
As this appears to be the standard, I assent. But I still believe that there is no neutrality issue - if it can say "Israel" in the text, then there should be no problem, even though I appreciate the uniqueness of an image versus words. It may have even been one of us that said on Jerusalem's Talk that we needn't assume that readers would not read beyond the first few word (my two pence ;-] ). [edit] Green color
These days color green reminds of Hamas flags. Of course they don not own it, but could we pick another color, perhaps a more blueish one? ←Humus sapiens ну? 19:53, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yes ok changed it - sorry for the delay--Flymeoutofhere (talk) 09:20, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
