This template was tremendously over-complex.

  • The issue of dealing with the party colours is made so much harder than it needs to be. I made a chart to be used, and we can probably get rid of the extraneous templates.
  • The template was using full rows, with no characters, as borders. Ugly.
  • Many of the wiki-table features, like TH cells, weren't used. Bad for screen readers.

Here is my new design for this. It's much lighter on the servers and easier to read. The color chart is just for reference - we can document that in a "Usage" section on this page. -- Netoholic @ 21:54, 28 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Political position

For political position, I would suggest two subheadings: "Economic position" and "Social position." This would be much more revealing, especially with parties that do not fall into the traditional left-right scale very easily, like the Libertarian Party (United States).
