[edit] Infobox header colors

It's obvious that this infobox was copied from {{Infobox Football European Championship}} and I have no problem about it. I just wanted to say that I was the one that chose the header colors (dark blue, red, orange) and it was not a random choice — they are the colors present in UEFA's emblem. While these are justified in {{Infobox Football European Championship}}, they lose their significance in this more general football infobox.

Perhaps neutral colors should be chosen for this one. Paruta(l)kupiu 18:53, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Actually, at the time, Template:Infobox Asian Cup, Template:Infobox Copa América and Template:Infobox Football European Championship all used the same as I used here but I could care less about the colors so change to the consensus.--otduff t/c 22:31, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
But you can check by their history that {{Infobox Asian Cup}} and {{Infobox Copa América}} were created after I restyled {{Infobox Football European Championship}} and added those colors, so whoever copied the infobox code didn't have a clue about the color choices. Anyway, I just wanted to suggest a change, nothing else. I'm open for suggestions. Paruta(l)kupiu 23:57, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Categories

Does this template have to include the article in categories automatically? I find it really annoying myself. – PeeJay 16:20, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Template:Infobox International Football Competition (future event)

I've just noticed the creation of this template - thought I would point out my comment at Template talk:Infobox International Football Competition (future event) here, as the page probably doesn't get much traffic. -- Chuq (talk) 23:45, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] To whoever is currently updating this template

Don't forget that women and clubs compete in international tournaments so only offering the basic champions etc entries wrapped in {{fb}} will be (and is) useless for a lot of the inclusions of this template. It's just started to break when using {{fbw}} and domestic teams. Nanonic (talk) 00:19, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Fixed. Use |champion_other=, |second_other=, |third_other= and |fourth_other= parameters for any teams that are not in the {{fb}} template. Note that if you just use the |champion= parameter, you should only specify the country, and it will be automatically wrapped into {{fb}} template, but if you use the |champion_other= parameter, be sure to enter your own code (e.g. {{fbw|Germany}} to produce Flag of Germany Germany.  ARTYOM  09:55, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
That works fine, thanks very much. Nanonic (talk) 12:18, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
No problem!  ARTYOM  12:31, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Request for small change

I've never been a fan of table text like this with text-align:center, I just think it looks bad. Would it be ok to change text-align:center; cellpadding=0 to text-align:left; cellpadding=2 I think (if ofc the cellpadding dont screw anything up) it would look nicer. Chandlertalk 01:49, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

And forgot one thing... I think it would be a good thing to have a "Final venue" also, and more stuff that can fit National and continental club competitions Chandlertalk 02:09, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
I incorporated your first suggestion into the copy of this template at my sandbox, and I personally think it really looks better. Regarding the second proposal, it's a good one as well, but we should probably discuss what information to add.  ARTYOM  13:01, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, the second proposal was just when I was adding the template to some Uefa Champions League seasons, it's not totally needed, but if you'd go "all the way" to make this template to work and be used by all football competitions (would be good for standardization, right?) it couldn't hurt with more options. [edit] Request for flags

Just like to make a request to whoever updated this infobox. I was just editing the page for Europeada 2008 and, as you'd see there, there is a problem with the flags for this tournament. I added the flags from the country the team is based on, or the team itself if possible. I was wondering if it is possible to add the Roma flag to the database for this? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Roma_flag.svg) Thanks Lihaas (talk) 11:04, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
