Template talk:Infobox Historic cricketer
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For the record, I added "Cricinfo.com" in the name of the link for the source. The main reason I did this was that it was messing up the references and footnote numberings; also, I am simply making this template consistent with Template:Infobox Cricketer. Since I'm changing such an oft-used template, I'm sure it's possible I broke something on other pages, so if a reversion is necessary that is fine. If for some reason it shouldn't say Cricinfo, maybe a different name is appropriate? In any case the link should have a name so as not to mess up the footnoting. --Deville 03:24, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- I've reverted it for the moment. I'm fairly sure it used to say Cricinfo, but some cricketers used other sources, so it was changed. There's probably a discussion about it in the early archives of Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Cricket, although I don't have time to find it right now. Can I suggest you ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Cricket before changing it? Thanks. Stephen Turner (Talk) 17:04, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Flag icon?
Does this template really need a flag icon? I had difficulty removing one which was grossly inappropriate historically. Countries' flags change over time, and if we must use a flag we need to use the correct one. --John (talk) 18:26, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
