[edit] What if the building is not in town?

I would like to use this infobox for Borobudur article, but the building is not in a town and the Location Town parameter is a mandatory. How about changing "Location Town" into "Location"? And "Location Country" into "Country"? What about geolocation? Can you add this parameter in the infobox? Thanks. — Indon (reply) — 09:17, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

I agree. --Mcginnly | Natter 09:19, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Do I have a permission to alter it? I'm not a member of this project, so I'm afraid that it might cost some problems. — Indon (reply) — 12:49, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
I've amended it - but don't let not being a member of any project put you off improving wikipedia. --Mcginnly | Natter 13:59, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. I meant that I might change something that disrupts other articles. — Indon (reply) — 14:07, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Font

Does anyone mind if I change the font size from 95 % to 90 % so it would be like the Template:Infobox Modern building? —dima/s-ko/ 22:53, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

I don't mind, it is not a major change so feel free.--NeilEvans 23:36, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
OK, will do now. Thanks, —dima/s-ko/ 23:40, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Size

Could a size parameter be a good idea? General enought so one could add either total floor area or number of rooms or both. Inge 01:18, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Added size parameter.Inge 08:55, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Before 1900

Why the limitation to before 1900? I assume that's to keep this template from being used for all buildings, historic or otherwise, but it's quite possible for a building after 1900 to be considered historic. For example, ICI House or Höfði. Is there another template that should be used in such situations? Pimlottc 12:26, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

I agree. The 1900 date seems a bit arbitrary. Just because a building pre-dates the turn of the 20th century does not determine it to be historical, or historic. Perhaps the architecture is significant, or current or previous occupants, or events that transpired within. There are many qualifiers to historic. Jmitchell4466
I agree, although age is primarily factor is determining something as historic there are other factors. I think the template should be used on all historic buildings irrespective of age. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by NeilEvans (talkcontribs) 20:29, 2 March 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Template explanation

Is there an explanation of the fields anywhere? Specifically, what is it looking for in the "structural_system" line? -Bbik 05:02, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] My additions & suggested further additions

I hope nobody minds, I've added some optional fields for adding a map using the Template:Location map system, as the image field is hard wired to use the image markup.

Does anybody object to the addition of some sort of "protection" or "conservation" field? This could be used to denote things like listed buildings. Joe D (t) 11:57, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Minor code complaint

There's an extra enter in the code somewhere, and it's causing the first line of text to be lower than it should be. I'd fix it, but I don't have a clue how and would probably break it. If someone else can do it, though, it'd be nice, even if it is such a minor little thing. -Bbik 07:28, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

Fixed by your favorite wikistalker. Sincerely, Duja 20:51, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Edit by Pigsonthewing

A recent edit by Pigsonthewing leaves this "{{#if: |" at the top of articles that include this template. I'm not sure how to fix this. Is there a way to fix it without loseing the content he added? Ryan Roos 03:33, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Apologies; but I seem that that's now been fixed. Andy Mabbett 09:27, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image size

How do I specify a size for the image when using this template? None of the methods used in other templates seem to work. Salmanazar (talk) 13:06, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion about using this infobox

An HTML message was placed on many articles requesting that an infobox not be placed in the article. This infobox is one of the relevant infoboxes. A discussion has ensued on WT:CHES#Little Moreton Hall in which arguments have been advanced in favour or against using this infobox. I invite you to view and comment on the rather important arguments that have been advanced against using this infobox.  DDStretch  (talk) 09:26, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
