Used to provide basic, easy-to-find info about Japanese train stations in their articles.

[edit] Parameters

Name Parameter Required Definition
Name (English) namerom Yes Name of the station. Do not include "Station".
Name (Japanese) name Yes Japanese name of the station entered in kanji. Do not include 「駅」
Image image No Picture of the station, preferably of the entrance. Enter filename only.
Image width imagesize No Numerical display width for image; default is 250px.
Image caption caption No Text caption to be displayed under the image.
Prefecture pref No Name of the prefecture. Do not include a wikilink, just the name without "Prefecture".
City city No If the station is in a city, enter the name here. Do not include a wikilink, just the name without "city".
Ward ward No If the station is in either Tokyo or a designated city, enter the name of the ward here. Do not include a wikilink, just the name without "-ku" or "ward".
Town town No If the station is in a town, enter the name here. Do not include a wikilink, just the name without "town". This template supports towns that have the same name as other municipalities within the same prefecture.
Village village No If the station is in a village, enter the name here. Do not include a wikilink, just the name without "village". This template supports villages that have the same name as other municipalities within the same prefecture.
District district" No If the station is in a town or a village, enter the name of the Districts of Japan district here. Do not include a wikilink, just the name without "district".
Remaining adresss address No This is for the rest of the address (except postal code). Do not include prefecture, city, ward, town, village, and/or district in this field.
Entire Japanese address jaloc No Enter the entire address (except postal code) in kanji here. This field should include prefecture, city, ward, town, village, and/or district.
Postal code postal No Enter the seven-digit postal code including the dash.
Year opened open No Year the station first opened for business. Four digits.
Year closed closed No Year the station closed. Four digits.
Former station name oldname No If the station was opened with a different name, enter it here.
Year of renaming presentname No Year the station was renamed to its present name. Four digits.
Station number(s) station_number No If the station has a station number (typically found in urban areas), enter it here.
Operator(s) operator No List of all companies that operate rail service at the station. Separate with <br /> if there are more than one.
Lines(s) line No List of all lines running through the station. Separate with <br /> if there are more than one.
Statistics stats No Number of passengers per day.
Bus stop bus No Information about bus service in front of the station. Use the following values in this field:
  • n - Used if there is no bus stop.
  • y - Used if there is a single bus stop.
  • t - Used if there is a bus terminal of some sort (not recommended)
  • t1 - Used if there is a small bus terminal (2-3 stops/platforms)
  • t2 - Used if there is a medium-sized bus terminal (4-6 stops/platforms)
  • t3 - Used if there is a large bus terminal (7-9 stops/platforms)
  • t4 - Used if there is a major bus terminal (10 or more stops/platforms)
