[edit] Optional population figures

To add the first and last recorded population figures for each subdivision add the following optional syntax to the articles:

 |PopulationFirst= 1,000
 |PopulationFirstYear= 1901
 |PopulationLast= 1,000
 |PopulationLastYear= 1961

[edit] Optional area figures

Many subdivisions had substantial boundary changes. To include the first and last recorded area figures add the following optional syntax to the articles:

 |AreaFirst= 1,000 acres
 |AreaFirstYear= 1901
 |AreaLast= 1,000 acres
 |AreaLastYear= 1961

[edit] Optional density figures

Use with caution. It is best to use this only where the population, area and density figures are all for the same years.

 |DensityFirst= 1/acre
 |DensityFirstYear= 1901
 |DensityLast= 1/acre
 |DensityLastYear= 1961

[edit] Optional mid-life figures

If the subdivision had lots of changes, a mid life set of figures can be included.

 |PopulationSecond= 1,000
 |PopulationSecondYear= 1931
 |AreaSecond= 1,000 acres
 |AreaSecondYear= 1931
 |DensitySecond= 1/acre
 |DensitySecondYear= 1931

[edit] Where to use

This infobox can be used on a range of former subdivisions and historic areas.

The application of this template has so far been restricted to United Kingdom subdivisions, but there is nothing in the template syntax to prevent its use on other territories.
