- Parameter notes:
- With the exception of name, do not delete a parameter - leave the field blank if there is nothing to enter. If the article name is the same as the the name to be used for the infobox, name can be removed.
- For multiple items in one field, separate each with <br />. For example: creators=Stan Lee<br />Jack Kirby
- The image field is setup use the file name only and with out braces. For example: image= example.jpg
- The imagesize parameter is set up to only accept a numeric value. If left blank or if a sting (such as "225px") is entered, the image will default to 250px wide.
- If you find the image to be too tall, reduce the size below 250px.
- The parameter is capped at 250. Entering values grater than this will result in the default setting being used.
- The 'caption will appear below the image. Keep it short, but indicate the comic book and issue # if it is from a comic book, in the form Wolverine #17 (typed as ''Wolverine'' #17))
- For the debut field, provide the first appearance of the species. Example: Fantastic Four #3.
- Type is the type of location the article deals with, in the most general terms. It is normally generated selecting one of the listed of logical operands, however, an entry like type=Base will over ride them.
- Dimension
- Planet
- Continent
- Empire
- Region
- Country
- City
- Building
- Landmark
- Residents are notable individual characters or teams native to the location. In general this is not needed for buildings or landmarks.
- Races are the notable races that have been shown to populate the location. In general this is not needed for buildings or landmarks, nor is it necessary to list "Humans".
- Locations are the notable landmarks, cities, and places that have been shown to exist with in the location. In general this is not needed for buildings or landmarks.
- This template will automatically place the article into Category:Comics locations. Subcat and Altcat can be used to move the article to the relevant subcategory.
- Subcat deals with similarly named categories. For example "subcat=Marvel Comics" will place the article into only the Category:Marvel Comics locations.
- Altcat deals with distinctly named subcategories. For example "altcat=Earth-Two" will place the article into only the Category:Earth-Two.
- Sortkey is required. It can be changed to forcing a different sort in the category. This parameter will not recognize a leading space.
