[edit] Parameters
The purpose of this list is to set more detailed guidelines for the content of the {{Infobox Musical}} template. The purpose of detailing the template is to further Wikipedia:WikiProject Musicals's goal of standardizing Wikipedia's musical theatre articles. Please leave feedback on the talk page.
- name
- The title of the musical
- subtitle
- Usually, "The Musical" or similar language.
- image
- Acceptable images may include:
- Promotional posters
- CD covers
- Playbill covers
- Logos
- Note: If no image is present, the page is added to Category:Musical theatre articles missing an image in infobox
- image_size
- Use to reduce the image to a size, generally between 150px and 260px, that keeps it from becoming distorted. To use actual size of the stored image, put: image_size=0 (default: 215px). Allows alias spelling as keyword "imagesize".
- caption
- Explanation of image. Please be brief ("Original Cast Recording" or "Logo"...); however, for fair-use images, include production date/name or for attribution, state name of artist(s).
- music
- The composer. Several composers should be separated by line-breaks <br>. Should the music be credited as an adaptation, the original composer should be listed first, a line break, a bolded (triple-apostrophe) heading with the words " ' ' ' Adapted by: ' ' ' ", another line-break, and the adapters.
- lyrics
- The name of the lyricist, with caveats as for the music field.
- book
- The name of the book-writer, with caveats as above.

- Previews may be discussed under the History/Background section of the article.
- For each production, include:
- Start year only
- Location
- For non-touring productions, write "Broadway", "West End", or the city and country of production.
- For tours, write the country of the tour
- Type of production (tour, concert etc.) for anything other than a fully-staged, non-touring production.
- Example:
