- jurisdiction = Where the election took place
- Allowed values: au (Australia), nsw, vic, qld, sa, wa, act, nt, nz (New Zealand), nz86 (New Zealand pre-1986)
- year = Year the election took place
- hung = Required.
- wincolour = Leave blank for grey.
- winner = Majority party or parties. Do not link.
- partyn = Party name. Please provide a link.
- colourn = Leave blank for grey.
- voten = Primary vote share, to one decimal place
- swingn = Primary vote share change on last general election, to one decimal place. Use ↑ or ↓ characters to indicate positive or negative change.
- seatsn = Number of seats won
- changen = Difference between number of seats held before and after election. Use ↑ or ↓ characters to indicate positive or negative change. Leave blank for no change.

- Arrange parties in order of seat share
- Colour attributes for parties 6, 7 and 8 are ignored
- Put the independent total last
- Do not include any statewide vote or swing amount for the independents
- If parties with sitting MPs are no longer contesting the election, add their total number of lost seats as an "Others" row at the end, after any independents
- Use discretion when including parties who win no lower house seats – this infobox is to provide an overview only
