This is derived from {{Infobox UK station}} and works similarly, with a few Germany-specific additions.

The following parameters can be set:
logo= currently used to denote S-Bahn stations: [[Image:S-Bahn-Logo.svg|30px|S-Bahn]] name= Station name, if a shorthand is well-known use that one (Aachen Hauptbahnhof→Aachen Hbf, Hamm (Westfalen)→Hamm (Westf) etc) other_name= Any other names (former names? See Berlin Ostbahnhof) image= Image of the station, using [[Image:YourImageHere.jpg|200px|Your station]] for syntax caption= Image caption state= State of Germany the station is located in. locale= Kreis or kreisfreie Stadt if using borough=, elsewhile use for town coordinates= Use {{coord}} with display=inline,title borough= For stations that are in a subdivision of a larger municipality. street= Street or postal address. Use <br /> tag to start a new line. ibnr= This is the IBNR code of the station. Can be found in the DB category list or on www.ibnr.de.vu - use 5-digit codes (i.e. Aachen Hbf is 00001). Currently not shown to the public, might be used later to give a deep link to DB's timetable service. ds100= DS100 code. List of Deutsche Bahn station abbreviations. type= Type of the station, Hp, Bf et cetera. List is at Railway station types of Germany. category= DB Station & Service category from 1 to 6. See German railway station categories for links to DB PDF (also contains codes for the code= variable.) code= Station code as assigned by Station&Service. platforms= Platforms in use. exits= Annual exit and entry figures

Of these parameters, name=, local= and ds100= are mandatory. All others are optional.
[edit] Microformat
The HTML mark up produced by this template includes an hCard microformat, which makes the place-name and location parsable by computers, either acting automatically to catalogue article across Wikipedia, or via a browser tool operated by a person, to (for example) add the subject to an address book. Within the hCard is a Geo microformat, which additionally makes the coordinates (latitude & longitude) parsable, so that they can be, say, looked up on a map, or downloaded to a GPS unit. hCard uses HTML classes including:
- "adr"
- "county-name"
- "fn"
- "label"
- "locality"
- "nickname"
- "note"
- "org"
- "region"
- "street-address"
- "vcard"
Geo is produced by calling {{coord}}, and uses HTML classes:
- "geo"
- "latitude"
- "longitude"
Please do not rename or remove these classes.
When giving coordinates, please don't be overly precise.
