[edit] Hypocrisy
I find it ironic that on the Infoshop main web page it says "Kill capitalism before it kills you!" then below there is a link to their "Store" which is supposed to sell "Magazines, books, t-shirts and gear."Anarcho-capitalism 13:16, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- Che shirts always brought to you by capitalist, surprised? hmm 203.84.69.171 17:19, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- First of all, even if your twisted understanding of left anarchists (you know, the ones that are actually opposed to all forms of artificial hierarchy) was correct, your use of the word irony is not. Maybe if they were selling a shirt that said "Kill capitalism before it kills you!" that was produced in a sweatshop in China and sold for many times the manufacturing cost, you could consider it ironic. Secondly, people who oppose "capitalism" do not oppose the transfer of goods. Let me state it again: anti-capitalists do not oppose economies. Finally, even if these people actually believed that people should take part in one of the most basic human customs, they can't really be blamed for not constantly upholding their ideals. Judging from the fact that you were able to post this comment only moments ago, I can safely assume you're not in jail for tax evasion, although I'm sure you have all kinds of thoughts on the injustice of taxes. You might as well point out the "irony" of any anarchist having a job, because he or she would be participating in an exploitative economic system, or sending kids to public school, because they would be entering into a partnership with the state. As for the second guy's comment, I'm not even really sure what that means. But more power to you. hisownspace
- There was nothing wrong with my use of the word "irony." It's called "situational irony." Look it up in the irony article. Anarcho-communists oppose trade. Sure, goods can be "transferred" but they can't be bought and sold. They want to abolish money and share goods instead. If infoshop sells goods, they're engaging in capitalism.Anarcho-capitalism 18:01, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- can you please keep talk posts on the subject of the article? if you wish to editorialize or pursue your pov perhaps you should consider a blog or some outlet other than wikipedia. thanks. -- frymaster 16:08, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
