[edit] Spanish/Portuguese
This article needs cleanup of the Spanish and Portuguese quotes to reflect the actual words in the languages as most of the diacritics are missing, changing the meaning in some cases. -Yupik 10:38, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Pittsburgh
The pig also said "Impeach Bush". Should that be added? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.3.198.103 (talk • contribs)
- Yes, of course. Be bold! --BeautifulFlying 17:34, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Deletion request
I just added a request for deletion. As i'm not registered, i cannot finish the process and i hope someone else will do, as it is blatantly obvious that this article has encyclopedic value at all. if i may quote: "Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information." this list may have value for a roger waters fanforum or a pink floyd wiki or something, but imho this has no place here whatsoever. 87.123.212.62 (talk) 13:37, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- Roger Waters is a notable person. The way he uses the pig on tours illustrates his artistic personality and and political views. I see certain encyclopedic value in that. --BeautifulFlying (talk) 01:49, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- I think it should be merged to Pink Floyd pigs. Shouldn't have a stand-alone article.--h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 12:58, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] This tour only?
Where's the information on previous tours? This only covers the past couple years. There's been, what, five or six worldwide tours since he split off, right? Torc2 (talk) 03:05, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- I guess it was just a matter of Wikipedia having gained enough velocity by the latest tour time, which invited the concert goers to share what they had just seen at the shows... Wikipedia was simply not big enough or didn't exist during the earlier tours. http://www.brain-damage.co.uk may have some reviews from then. --BeautifulFlying (talk) 22:43, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- It is likely that Roger did not use the pig on his previous solo tours, it would have been reported otherwise --Willdside (talk) 10:11, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Links to people etc
It makes a lot of sense to incorporate the links in the article text as well, but I find it usefull to have a sort of catalog of these links. --BeautifulFlying (talk) 20:46, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- That's not the right way to lay out the article though. See WP:ALSO. It's not just a place to restate links already in the article, and there's really not purpose in having them separated out.Torc2 (talk) 21:47, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- For a list type of article as long as this one, I can easily see a reader who is interested in a particular show or leg of the tour, without interest in the entire article. It would be convenient for such a reader to have a quick link to things like Habeas Corpus, or Free At Last etc, without having to look for their first occurence in the long article. If mentioning all these details in the article is important at all, then providing convenient links to this notable information is just as important. Obviously, adding the links in each occurence of terms is (1) space & traffic consuming (2) visually obstructive (3) labor intensive - so, I see a summary at the bottom as a good compromise. This summary also helps to understand Waters's views in general.
- Thanks for referring to WP:MOS and WP:ALSO, but it looks like WP:IAR is very applicable in this case. Let me know what you think. --BeautifulFlying (talk) 22:17, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- No, I don't think IAR would benefit us here. There's nothing exceptional about this topic that calls for formatting it differently or restating the topics discussed within the article separately at the bottom rather than inline. I think Waters' political and social views are already quite apparent from the article itself. Torc2 (talk) 23:36, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Citation Needed
The coachellafest story is pretty hilarious, but I don't know how to add citations. A simple google search will bring up tons, though. Could someone add that in? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.80.233.19 (talk) 13:34, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Removing uncited claims
I have removed all claims that lack a citation and fixed the remaining few that do. Please do not add anything back in without a verifiable source. This is crucial for maintaining encyclopedic standards. BotleySmith (talk) 14:33, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
- Well, one exists now! BotleySmith (talk) 04:01, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
