InfoPark is an information technology park promoted by the government, located at Kochi, India. Infopark is placed in a 100 acres (0.4 km²) campus which is 12 km from the International Airport and the city, the Park is a destination for the IT industry, especially for ITES units.
The VSNL’s communication gateway is located less than 2 km from the park. This gateway handles around 70% of the country’s data traffic.[citation needed] The proximity to the SAFE and SE-ME-WE 3 cables dropping zone and direct OF connection to the gigabyte router of VSNL, enables the park to offer 100% uptime data connectivity to units. Kochi offers Pacific and Atlantic route of connectivity to the US.
The Park now presents 482,000 sq ft (44,800 m²) of built up area, which at present is fully taken up. Two Smart Business Centers, modern plug and play incubation facility, offer start up facilities for new units. Low rentals clubbed with high quality furnishing makes the SBC an ideal choice for startup enterprises. Uninterrupted power supply is possible to the units through a dedicated 110 KV line from the nearby Diesel Power Plant.
A 35 meter, 4 lane road connecting the park to the airport - seaport highway is getting ready. The major companies in the park include Wipro, TCS, Outsource Partners International, Vanilla Networks Pvt Ltd and Affliated Computer Services (ACS). Armia Systems, Inc. has started a development centre on the first floor of the Vismaya building.
The Leela group has commissioned a 137,000 sq ft (12,700 m²) building. L&T is slated to have a significant presence in the park. Software conglomerate Wipro is also setting up a 25 acre software development park within the campus.
