Dom Afonso de Bragança, Infante of Portugal, Prince of Beira, (Afonso de Santa Maria Miguel Gabriel Rafael, born 25 March 1996, at Lisbon) is the elder son and heir of the current head of the House of Braganza and claimant to the throne of Portugal.

Afonso is the first born child of Duarte, Duke of Braganza, and of his wife Isabel de Herédia.[1]

On 1 June 1996, in the Cathedral of Braga, Afonso was baptised by Eurico Dias Nogueria, Archbishop of Braga. He received the names Afonso de Santa Maria Miguel Gabriel Rafael. His godparents were Princess Helene of the Two Sicilies and his mother's brother, Afonso Miguel de Herédia.[2]

Afonso has the title Prince of Beira, the title formerly borne by the second in line to the throne of Portugal, since his father uses the title Duke of Braganza, the title formerly borne by the first in line to the throne. Afonso also has the title Duke of Barcelos, the title traditionally borne by the eldest son of the Duke of Braganza.
