If there are no objections, we should be removing the flag from this template, and replacing it with some other image. Not only is the flag not appropriate for pre-1947 people, the fact that many people that should be covered by this template belonged to regions not in the current republic, and thus never represented by its flag. For examples of what I mean, see Template:China-bio-stub and Template:Korea-bio-stub. The flag could be replaced by a historical personality. For example,

A sugestion: can we have an image of the Ashoka Pillar instead of Buddha. - Both Ashoka and Akbar are good options. I considered them, but didn't end up suggesting them because Ashoka's picture is modern guesswork, and the Akbar painting wasn't clear in small size.
