This template is put at the top of a biographical article to point out to readers where one element of a person's Indian name is not the family name but a patronymic, that is, the given name of his or her father.

Parameter Description
[given name] Replace this phrase with the person's given or personal name(s).
[patronymic] Replace this phrase with the person's patronymic, or father's name.
