[edit] Indra Sinha

The following was posted to my talk page.

Dear Athaenara, it appears that you have created a page for me on Wikipedia. I am not utterly thrilled with it, but understand that Wikipedia rules forbid me from changing it myself. What is the best way forward in a case like this? Are you now the de facto commissar of my life and career? Can I communicate with you privately? Is it possible to ask that the whole article be deleted from Wikipedia? Or have we entered the age of info-fascism where your version and yours alone, must prevail? Looking forward to hearing from you, one way or another, a toute a l'heure, Indra (indra at indrasinha.com) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.50.79.157 (talk • contribs) 23:03, 18 December 2007) (UTC)

My reply there:

I forwarded your post to the article talk page, which is the central location for discussing it. The "rules" don't forbid but rather discourage conflict of interest edits. No editor owns any article in this encyclopedia, and I am not the only editor of this one. — Athaenara 00:51, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

I copied it here because this page is the central location for discussing improvements to the Indra Sinha article. — Athaenara 00:33, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

What specifically would you wish to be changed? — Athaenara 01:00, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

Indra Sinha, who is a friend of mine, has been in touch saying that he disagrees with the curious and inappropriate colonial labels (Anglo-Indian and Indo-Anglian) applied to him when he is simply "British of English and Indian descent". He has held British nationality all his life; and his wife and children are British. --ROGER DAVIES talk 15:30, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
I apologize that any of my edits last year imported "curious and inappropriate" terms from news items which I was citing. I wholeheartedly support the changes. — Athaenara 23:32, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your extraordinarily civil (and gracious) response. --ROGER DAVIES talk 00:03, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
You are welcome! — Athaenara 01:10, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
