Talk:Indiana Firebirds
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I hope that they can save this team. Heck, it's "historic" by AFL standards, with only two home venues and fifteen years of consecutive existence, something that is exceeded by the Pittsburgh Gladiators/Tampa Bay Storm, the only "charter" AFL team that has been in every season.

I'll confess, I've never seen a Firebirds game. My attendance at sporting events in general is almost non-existent, with the exception of a few auto races in recent years. I've lived in central Indiana for 14 years now, and never seen the Colts or the Pacers play. Been to one Indians game, one Ice game, and just saw the Indy 500 for the first time this year.
Nevertheless, I hope the sale goes through, too. Never know where the next big thing is gonna get its start. :) --Jay (Histrion) 23:06, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Go, if you get the chance. I bought tickets to a couple of Nashville Kats games the year that they started; the next three years I was a season ticket holder, and went to about half the games the last year that they were here. They moved only because they couldn't get a good deal on the arena/concessions/parking/suites et al. with the NHL Predators, who control the arena. Now they're just happy to have the prospect of anything being in there and their only regret is that it won't start until February. The team here is now owned by Bud Adams of the Titans; it seems like the Irsays would at least want into it as minority investors, a lot of the more recent Arena teams are the result of NFL owners wanting football in their city to go on more or less year-round. I'm really pumped that the Kats coming back this winter. I became something of an Arena fan and historian; I'd watched it a little on ESPN way back when it started. You have to see it as about half sport, half spectacle, even moreso than "big-time" pro sports are nowadays.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:AlbanyFirebirds.png
Image:AlbanyFirebirds.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
