Your locator map for the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore has a red dot placed in the state of Pennsylvania. The Indiana Dunes is in Indiana, at the southern tip of Lake Michigan.

This article is part of WikiProject Protected Areas, a WikiProject related to national parks and other protected areas worldwide. It may include the protected area infobox.

It is interesting that much of the land in this area that is inhabitted is done so through long term leases. After the lease is up the land reverts to the national lakeshore. There are some sites, I believe in the Beverly Shores area where restoration of the original dwellings is being allowed.This area has much historic value and was written about in a book by Jim Murrow called "IMAGES OF AMERICA: BEVERLY SHORES A SUBURBAN DUNES RESORT".
