[edit] Independence Day (United States)

We may like to have a look at the above page. -- Lost 07:23, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I think that is a good format to follow. We need to include content about the celebrations during the independence day parade et al. The historical stuff should be shortened too.-- thunderboltza.k.a.Deepu Joseph |TALK07:55, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Freedom at Midnight

A very detailed account of events leading to 15th August is given in the book by Dominique Lapierre. It also explains why we became independent on 15th August. If anybody has a copy handy, it may be a great source to cite from -- Lost 07:26, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Independence day in literature

In my opinion, the Independence day in literature section should be chopped from the article, or its contents should be revamped. Thoughts? -- thunderboltza.k.a.Deepu Joseph |TALK05:25, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

Revamped. There should be a section on the day in arts, literature, popular imagination, etc. — Ravikiran 10:52, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
