- Jayadratha? --Gurubrahma (talk) 04:37, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

This person lacks an article in wikipedia as of now. He has some "first"s to claim. He was the first Indian to achieve a particular feat at the Cambridge University. He was co-founder of an establishment that was first of its kind in British India. Again, he was the founder of another establishment incorporating students that was probably the first of kind in India. Who is the person?--Dwaipayan (talk) 08:00, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- Ananda Mohan Bose? --Amondal (talk) 09:06, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yes. Anandamohan Bose. he was the first Indian wrangler (a student who has completed the third year of the Mathematical Tripos with first-class honours) of the Cambridge University. He was the co-founder of Indian Association, and also established the Calcutta Students Association , probably the first political association of students in British India.--Dwaipayan (talk) 10:22, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- Now this person has an article in wikipedia! --Amondal (talk) 03:14, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

This answer to this question probably can be searched easily. However, this involves something memorable that is completing its centenary. So, here goes the question:
This person was involved in an act which is just completing centenary. In later life, he suffered from a psychiatric illness, most probably schizophrenia. His love was married to someone else, however, much later, he re-united with her although she became partially paralysed by that time. Name the person, and the event that is completing centenary.--Dwaipayan (talk) 15:04, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- R Shankar completed his birth centenary. KnowledgeHegemonyPart2 (talk) 16:08, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- You mean R. Sankar, right? No, this is not the answer.--Dwaipayan (talk) 16:29, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- Kazi Nazrul Islam and HMV? -- ¿Amar៛Talk to me/My edits 16:31, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- Kazi Nazrul Islam and Kingsford bombings or Muzaffarpur killing part of protest against Partition of Bengal. KnowledgeHegemonyPart2 (talk) 17:20, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- Uh oh...you are very near there... but the person is not correct (the event—bombing—is partially correct, and am considering it to be correct).--Dwaipayan (talk) 17:25, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- The person you are talking about is the barrister Pringle Kennedy whose wife and daughter were killed in the Muzaffarpur killing? Cribananda (talk) 22:45, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- Welcome back Cribananda to the quiz. No, the person is not Kennedy. I'm giving a clue: this person spent several years in the Cellular Jail.--Dwaipayan (talk) 05:03, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- Ullaskar Dutta? -- ¿Amar៛Talk to me/My edits 05:26, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, Ullaskar Dutta. He crafted the bomb that was used by Khudiram Bose and Prafulla Chaki in Mujaffarpur on 30 April 1908. The police had initial success in busting the gang on 2 May 1908 (exactly 100 years back, today). The case that followed was the Alipore Bomb Case.
- Ullaskar Dutta was incarcerated in the Cellular Jail. He suffered from some psychiatric illness, probably schizophrenia, and spent some time in the Madras Lunatic Asylum. Later, he returned to Bengal, and after 10 years of partition, came back to Calcutta. Meanwhile, he traced his love of life (who had been married and widowed by that time), and re-united (probably married), although she had become bed-ridden due to partial paresis.
- KnowledgeHegemony found out the event. And Amar found out the person. IMO, finding the event was more tough. Anyway, the credit can be shared by the two, and either of them can ask the next question. Is that fine?--Dwaipayan (talk) 07:49, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for welcoming me (back) to the quiz :-). I agree - KnowledgeHegemony and Amar should split the point. Amar can ask the next question.Cribananda (talk) 15:47, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
-
- I am very bad when it comes to asking questions. I request Amarrg to take this responsibility or Cribananda. KnowledgeHegemonyPart2 (talk) 08:21, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
There is something common among the film personalities: Aparna Sen, George Lucas, Sidney Lumet and Bharathiraja. Can anyone tell me what is it? -- ¿Amar៛Talk to me/My edits 16:08, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
-
- They are/were directors! I know this isn't the answer. KnowledgeHegemonyPart2 (talk) 16:30, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- The names of their first films as director have some numeric character.--Dwaipayan (talk) 16:33, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- Awesome, that's the answer I was looking for -- ¿Amar៛Talk to me/My edits 06:34, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Gandhi, Jinnah, Nehru were member of this this organisation/entity. Gandhi was dis-membered (this word is probably not the most suitable one, but I'm using this) once, and was again re-admitted much later. What is this?--Dwaipayan (talk) 18:37, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

"Hitler with his Brownshirts riding for a fall,
Mussolini with his Blackshirts back against the wall,
De Valera with his Greenshirts caring not at all,
Three Cheers for -------------- with -----------------" GDibyendu (talk) 14:47, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

This actor was good in one sport and competed with top sportsmen in that. One movie, in which he had lead role, had the same name as his. GDibyendu (talk) 17:15, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- If "his" refers to the actor, I guess it's Akshay Kumar who is very good in marital arts and played that kind of role in Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi which saw him playing a young guy called Akshay. Is it that? Shahid • Talk2me 17:28, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry for the misleading sentence. Name of the movie was same as name of the Actor. (It sounds weird, but ...) GDibyendu (talk) 18:03, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

- Yes. I thought I would use 'find the missing link' rather than 'connect'. BTW, I could not find any article which gives basic details about the award (around 1500 google links, checked first 100 or so). Your turn to ask question. GDibyendu (talk) 14:54, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, I too could not find anything decent on the net - though it is evident that the award was given in the initial years for works in literature, especially translation, but later extended to other fields. The award does not seem to be around any more. The best source to get info wd most probably be an old yearbook such as the copy of any Manorama Yearbook published in 1980's. --Gurubrahma (talk) 20:32, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Sorry for the delay. Here's a question.
Actress X worked in a film directed by director A in the mid-1980s. One year later, this actress acted in a film directed by director B. Years later, director B directed director A's daughter Y in a film. This film put the daughter Y in the same list, in which actress X appears several times.
Who are A, B, X and Y? Shahid • Talk2me 19:25, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- X is Shabana Azmi, A is Ravi Tandon (movie: Rahi Badal Gaye (1985)), B is Kalpana Lazmi (movie is Ek Pal, Lazmi's debut as director), Y is Raveena Tandon (movie: Daman: A Victim of Marital Violence), for which she got National Film Award for Best Actress, which Shabana has got 5 times.
