[edit] Royal Titles
How should the articles related to Princes, Royality, Monarchs, Ministers of India refer to the persons ?
- Should the titles like : HRH (His/Her Royal Highness), HH (His/Her Highness), HE (His/Her Excellency), HM (His/Her Majesty) be used in the article title, text ?
- Should the awards like : Rai Bhadhur, Khan Bhadhur be used in the title, text ?
Please note that this does not refer to terms such as Nawab of Arcot, Maharaja, Maharani. However, feel free to comment on these too.--IMpbt 07:45, 1 August 2005 (UTC)
Can't we just follow the European system. HRH, HH, Hon etc are not used in the titles of articles. However it is used in the text often as the introduction e.g Princess Marina Art 18 of the The Indian constitution bans the usage of titles, so perhaps we should'nt refer to say Jyotiraditya Scindia as Maharajah Jyotiraditya.

- How does this work with 'Sri' and 'Ji'. For example, the Sikh Guru's pages were originally listed as "Sri Guru....Ji". Now I wasn't very sure about this but I left it in because some other pages listed honorifics in the introduction section. But then I removed it later on after a discussion on the talk pages. [edit] Translation
I've just translated this page from Marathi (???) to English and heavens knows my (mom's) Marathi is no good. So, if any Marathi speakers could have a look at it, I'd be most grateful. Thanks--May the Force be with you! Shreshth91($ |-| r 3 $ |-| t |-|) 03:54, 21 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Naming
Which is more appropriate name Wai (Indian city) or Wai, Maharashtra?--May the Force be with you! Shreshth91($ |-| r 3 $ |-| t |-|) 06:29, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
- I went with Wai, Maharashtra - the "(Indian city)" disambiguation seems seldom used, if at all, while adding a state/province/territory/county name after a city name seems common for many parts of the world, including India place names. I moved what was in Wai (Indian city) to Wai, Maharashtra, because the former was a much more substantial article and had a lot more page history. CDC (talk) 20:59, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Spell Checker Bot for Devanagari Script
Mistakes of शुद्धलेखन 'rhasva','dirgha' are quite common in Devnagari script and indic language wikipedias . On english wiki I found that at following link we can put up a request to prgrammers to write a bot programme for us.Wikipedia:Bot requests Before putting up such a request I would like to invite suggestions from all Marathi/Devanagari/Hindi/Sanskrit Wikipedians.

[edit] Requesting help in designing a barnstar
- All Indian Languages using wikipedians,
- Further promotion of Indic language wikipedias needs mass media publicity like Print,Radio, telvision , aproaching in academic Institutions.
- Also if possible a level of field support from network engineers in India for presentation and training in usage of Indian Languages and wikipedia can be a added boon.
- May I call on all indic language wikipedia users,to put our hands together to design special barnstars or suggest one which can be awarded to all those who will support our noble cause with actual field support among Indian education institutions and Indian mass media or actual field 'network'help to users.
- I belive we should award barnstars to such users who can support the cause through online publicity like blogs , groups etc. also.
- Please do share any good development in this regards to all indic language wikipedias at विकिपिडिया: देवनागरी टेम्प्लेट परियोजना
