[edit] Trivia

  • In 2003, Queen became the first and only band to be inducted into the hall (although all the members of the Bee Gees were inducted).
  • The first "Starlight Award" winner was Rob Thomas of matchbox twenty. The award was inaugurated in 2004.
  • The songwriter holding the dubious distinction of having received the most nominations without an induction is Bon Scott, former lead singer and songwriter for the Australian Hard Rock group AC/DC. Scott has also managed to consistently maintain a comfortable lead in the public opinion poll categories best songwriter and best vocalist, despite having died in 1980.
