Presidential elections will be held in Indonesia in 2009.^[1] The incumbent Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will seek a second term, while his predecessor Megawati Sukarnoputri will also run again.^[2] Yusril Ihza Mahendra of the Crescent Star Party, a former key aide of Yudhoyono, announced his intention to run on 2 May 2008.^[3]
