Indigo (actress)

Indigo (b. Alyssa Ashley Nichols, 1984 in Los Angeles, California) is an African-American television actress. She has been billed by her birth name as well as the name "Indigo Nichols", but for the majority of her career has only used the stage name Indigo.

Indigo's first major television role was at the age of 11 when she played Julie on the American sitcom Minor Adjustments. A string of television guest appearances followed on programs such as Crossing Jordan, Chicago Hope, Judging Amy and N.Y.P.D. Blue. In 2002, she was cast as Cheyenne Webb on the drama Boston Public, a role that lasted for seven episodes.

This was followed by her role as potential slayer Rona in 8 episodes of the final season of the program Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Several more guest roles on shows such as Family Guy followed.

Indigo currently stars on the award winning drama series Weeds as drug dealer Heylia James' daughter Vaneeta.

She was co-nominated with her Weeds castmates for the 2007 Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
