Indie Rocker's Ball
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Created by Jim Durkin, Indie Rocker's Ball took a concept similar to TRL and rolled it into a punk-rock, tear-filled, gut-wrenching, hardcore karate-kicking powerhouse in the music video television show genre.
Indie Rocker's Ball started in the year of 2003 and was broadcast through Adelphia Cable throughout the Indiana, Pennsylvania and Eastern Pittsburgh regions.
Gaining national recognition through sponsorships that included Atticus clothing, Indie Rocker's Ball quickly became WIUP-TV's number one music video show and one could argue, number one show in general.
Shortly after 2004 passed, creator Jim Durkin was forced to pass the torch over some of WIUP-TV's up-and-comers.
The show has held strong since Durkin's departure and continues to reach out to the ever-growing population of skaters, punkrockers, hardcore and kids alike.
