Indian Wells, Arizona

Indian Wells (Navajo: Tó Hahadleeh) is an unincorporated community in Navajo County, Arizona, United States. It is also the name of the local Navajo chapter, legislative districts within the Navajo Tribal Council. The population was 970 as of the 2000 census.

Indian Wells is located at 35°24′22″N, 110°5′2″W (35.406, -110.084)[1].

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 970 people, 257 households, and 206 families residing in the chapter. The racial makeup of the chapter was 1.44% White, 98.35% Native American, 0.0% Pacific Islander, 0.21% from other races, and 0.21% from two or more races. 0.41% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 257 households out of which 52.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 32.7% were married couples living together, 16.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.8% were non-families. 19.1 of all households were made up of individuals and 7.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.77 and the average family size was 4.41.

In the chapter the population was spread out with 38.2% under the age of 18, 8.9% from 18 to 24, 26.2% from 25 to 44, 15.5% from 45 to 64, and 11.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 28.4 years. For every 100 females there were 100.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 105.8 males.
