Independent Democratic Confederation of Nepalese Union (INDECONT) is an umbrella organization of national trade unions in Nepal. It was founded on May 22, 2003. It has 6.2 million members (2002).
INDECONT sticker Independent Democratic Confederation of Nepalese Trade Unions is the largest central trade union organization in Nepal. It was founded by grope of people on may 22, 2003.
INDECONT itself claims to have over 8.3 million members. At present it is estimated around 12 unions are affiliated to INDECONT. According to provisional statistics from the Ministry of Labour, INDECONT had a membership of 6215797 in 2002.[1] It can also be noted that INDECONT is not affiliated to any International Trade Union Confederation.
INDECONT is politically tied to the Rasriya Jansakti party.
