Talk:Inculturation
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This word is contrived by the Roman Catholic Church to justify invasion colonization and genocide. The word infers that 'native' religion is inferior to the ultimate truth of Christianity. It contains the same logic Europe has always used to claim racial superiority and the right to order the rest of the world as it sees fit. This is a perversion of Jesus' teachings however it has made up a large portion of the history of European Christianity. Note the definition of genocide:
Genocide is defined by the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG) Article 2 as "any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group, as such: Killing members of the group; Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; and forcibly transferring children of the group to another group."
No killing is necessary, all that is necessary is creating conditions in order to bring about the elimination of what constitutes a group. 'Inculturation' revolves around the thinking that European people are superior and the rest of the world's people inferior and they need Europe's great things to replace what is obviously inferior. 'Inculturation' is a complex rationalization and justification of plain invasion colonization and genocide. It played a large role in the conquering and dismantling of the peoples of the entire western hemisphere. It is most definitly the pinnacle of high racist thinking. It says flatly that Catholics and other Christians should replace the lie of savage wild culture with the truth of Christianity.
