From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Incheon Bridge is a bridge currently under construction with a cable stayed section and which will be the second connection between Yeongjong Island and Incheon in South Korea. It is due to open in 2009. The bridge will be 18.2 kilometres (11.3 mi) long, of which the most difficult part will be the cable-stayed bridge portion over the main sea route to Incheon port, with a main tower 230.5 metres (756.2 ft) high, vertical clearance of 74 m (243 ft), and five spans: a centre span of 800 m (2,625 ft) flanked on either side by spans of 260 m (853 ft) and 80 m (262 ft). The bridge is expected to cost over $2.5 billion.

The sea crossing bridge section, whose concessionaire is Incheon Bridge Corporation, is funded by the private sector. Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC) and the Korean Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs (MLTMA) have managed the project.
