In the Sign of Evil is a 1984 EP by Sodom.
It is generally accepted[citation needed] that this EP, as well as Bathory, Venom, Hellhammer, and Mercyful Fate were black metal's first starts in the studio.
In 2007, Tom Angelripper returned to the studio along with Josef "Peppi" Dominic (Grave Violator) and Christian Dudeck (Witchunter) to re-record the EP, including several extra tracks which were discarded and forgotten. The release is called "The Final Sign of Evil".
The EP is widely available as the bonus tracks in the compact disc version of their debut album Obsessed by Cruelty (1986).
