[edit] Episode recap

Addison learns to cut Pete some slack. Dell bakes an irresistible chocolate cake for Naomi. Coop tries to figure out what's turning a young girl blue. Addison helps a young couple find the magic.

Addison wakes up in a panic, realizing it's raining and she left her things outside. When she runs out to get her things, she locks herself out of her place. Coop catches Violet listening to a saved voice mail from her lover. Pete stands at a graveyard talking to his dead wife, calling her lousy and saying he hated her. He also says that Violet told him to get that off his chest and say that to her. Addison voices her concern to Naomi that she doesn't fit in at the clinic.

Violet works with her client, Doug, to tell his wife that he wants a divorce. Newlyweds Kathleen and Jeffrey show up for their appointment with Addison, telling her that Kathleen's "hoo-ha" is broken. Doug shows back up at the clinic with his wife who is nursing a bloody nose, demanding to know who told her husband to divorce her. Coop checks in on a young patient, Erin, who is blue ... literally.

Sam checks out Doug's wife while she rants and raves. Coop tries to figure out why Erin has turned blue. Kathleen, who is 35, tells Addison that she's a virgin and has no sexual history. Addison gives her an exam but Kathleen is in a lot of pain, but promises to make sure she gets a proper honeymoon and experiences "the magic". The women of the clinic sit around later that night discussing their own magic. When Pete tries to step in, Addison tells him this is not a dirty joke and he gets offended. Violet tells Addison to cut him some slack.

Karen's, Doug's wife, bleeding gets much worse. Addison tells the newlyweds that Kathleen is suffering from muscle spasms. They return soon after to tell Addison that the sex still isn't happening. Kathleen worries her husband will leave her but he swears things will be okay. Violet suggests that Pete help Kathleen, and that maybe this is all psychological.

Erin's mother runs to Coop, saying that now, more of the children are being affected by the blue color. Addison tells Pete she doesn't want his help, offending him for a second time. Karen goes to Violet, telling her to stay out of her marriage, but begins coughing up blood. Coop goes to the house of the blue children to try to figure out what is causing it. While he's there, one of the girls has a seizure.

Sam tells Karen that she has a serious disease that could be fatal, if not caught in time. Doug plays the role of supportive husband, but doesn't want to. Naomi can't stop eating the chocolate cake that Dell brought her, which is all part of his plan. Find out what women want and give it to them. Dr. Addison diagnoses Kathleen with vulvar vestibulitis, a type of Vulvodynia, and as part of her treatment, gives Kathleen point lidocaine injections.

After finding out it's the anniversary of Pete's wife's death, Addison decides to cut him some slack and asks him to help her with her patient. Erin's mother asks the other girls for some answers as to why Erin has turned blue. Charlotte tells Sam and Violet that Karen has had these symptoms for months, that she knew she was sick for months and never told Doug.

Dell tells Coop to use his theory on the young girls to get the information he wants. He caves in and shows up with lots of girly things to play with at their house. Addison tries to talk to Pete about the anniversary of his wife's death but he doesn't want to discuss. The young girls take Coop to their secret place, an old shed. There, he finds toxic material that is the source of Erin's illness. Karen admits knowing she was sick to Doug. Violet asks Doug, in front of his wife, what he wants. He says that he wants to stay.

Pete does his best to treat Kathleen using guided imagery, and she and Addison wish the couple well as they attempt their honeymoon again. Once they're alone, Pete tells Addison about his wife, that she wasn't perfect, and storms away. Violet overhears, saying it's the most Pete has ever said about her. She meets with Doug, who doesn't understand why he agreed to stay with Karen.

Dell tries to give Naomi another cake and she freaks out, saying she doesn't want his cake, she wants Sam's cake. Pete goes back to his wife's grave and tells her all the things he didn't like about her or their marriage. Then, he tells her he's sorry that he couldn't save her. Violet finally erases the message from her lover. Kathleen and Jeffrey burst off the elevator, hugging everyone and thanking them. The treatment for Kathleen's vestibulitis was remarkably successful and their belated honeymoon went well.[1]
