[edit] Plot Details
Mikey's lawyer, Lester Martin, manages to get Mikey released on a technicality by ambushing and humiliating Bosco in court. After asking several questions about their father's abuse, he asks if Bosco read Mikey his rights before getting any information out of him, to what he answers no. Bosco is infuriated at this, because the state lawyer is the 55th Precinct lawyer, and he is sure that she will check each and every one of his cases to look for similar errors. Later, a 911 call brings Faith and Bosco to the Martins' home where their daughter, Rebecca, is unconscious, and her mother, Jan, is mildly hysterical. They perform CPR on her as she is not responding and the ambulance is 2 minutes away from their location. At first, Jan says Rebecca choked on vegetables, but then she changes it and says she choked on a pretzel. When the doctor says that Rebecca was beaten, Faith arrests Jan. Jan screams for her husband and faints, and when the doctors treat her they realize she's covered in just as many bruises as her daughter. Faith and Jelly explore the Lesters' apartment and find strange squalid living conditions behind the elegant facade, between them tens of workbooks where Rebecca was forced to write over and over again "I have to drink 10 glasses of water a day". Faith and Bosco arrest Lester for abusing his wife. Sully's favorite coffee shop proprietor is shot and killed during a robbery, and Sully goes after the perp personally. When he finds him, he beats him up and takes him to the precinct. When he leaves with Ty, he confesses that all he could think about when he saw Rocky dead was that he had nowhere to drink his coffee anymore, which makes him feel very confused. He urges Ty to study to get to Law School before "it's too late". Sasha realizes Ty has feelings for her, and tells him that she's not ready for anything serious right now, but she can't help falling for his charming ways. Fred is colder and colder towards Faith, and Faith doesn't know what to do about it. Bosco is worried that Cruz is moving too fast on Mikey's information, and is putting Mikey in danger. Sully receives his LSAT scores at the end of the episode to find out he scored a 176.
