In Effect Mode is the critically acclaimed debut album by Al B. Sure! Released on May 3, 1988, In Effect Mode was a huge success, having made it to #20 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Five singles were released from the album five of which made it to the billboard singles charts, "Nite and Day", "Off on Your Own (Girl)", "If I'm Not Your Lover", "Rescue Me" and "Killing Me Softly".
