Talk:IMVU

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When was IMVU first released? A quick search only reveals "April 2004." It seems odd to release a product on April Fools' Day. Lavenderbunny 06:24, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

How does the AP info keep getting removed? it Is VALID and True information regarding the accesspass controversy, writting with very little bias regarding the facts of the matter. as it seems to dissappear farly quickly, perhaps they have people to keep thie eyes on it... lets see how long this stays here...

[edit] IMVU contunually tries to push their "we didn't know" agenda

in this wiki site, and it's getting sickening. There WAS NEVER a UFI catagory when IMVU first opened. Their original statement was that that it was UP TO THE USERS OF IMVU TO DECIDED WHAT CONTENT THEY WANTED. It's in their own ARCHIVES> They SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO FALSIFY STATEMENTS ON THIS WIKI SITE!

this talk is dead

[edit] IMVU Catalog

I tagged this section because it contains the words "great" and "tons" where more specific words are needed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sbluen (talkcontribs) 04:50, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

IMVU has done little to support their customers. I have complaint issues that go back months. When I started a thread in the message forum seeking help for my unanswered complaints, I was verbally attacked by IMVU employees and further permanently banned from the message boards because I complained....and I stood my ground that IMVU harasses instead of helping their customers. I have been consistently monitored and harassed by the staff of imvu and they refuse to respond to any of my customer complaints in violation of their own business policies. In short, if you pay for something, you should be entitled to that product. IMVU puts a great deal of energy into supressing criticism of their poor customer service. I have heard many complaints from users who have contacted customer service...and have gone away abused and harrangued and not helped. If IMVU spent half as much energy in fixing their product as they spent punishing users who complained they would have a good community. If they chose to actually fix old features that had bugs instead of trying to add new features then it would work properly.

IMVU has demonstrated that their primary concern is attracting new marketing as opposed to being concerned about the quality of their product or service. They have taken an agressive approach to customers who are vocal about their complaints.

It is important that consumers look carefully at businesses who flagrantly refuse to honor the sale of the product or service for which they have already been paid. In my opinion, to accept money, with the explicit understanding that you are receiving money for a product or service...and then to fail to provide that product or service...and furthermore to attack and harass the purchaser is fraud.

I spoke to an attorney about this. His opinion was that the dollar amounts are not nearly signifigant to justify a lawsuit. In other words, because IMVU is selling products that cost pennies, they don't have to worry if you don't get the product you paid for. They don't have to be concerned if you don't get paid for selling a product.

Remember, if you make a monetary transaction with IMVU and you lose your money, you have no legal recourse and IMVU will harass you if you complain. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Angryconsumer (talkcontribs) 23:05, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Consumer Controversy

Apple pie is verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry good. And now onto talking about how IMVU treats it's cunsumers. Upon checking the history, I discovered that this site was edited half an hour after I posted the statement to this site concerning the consumer issues. If this alteration was not made by a wiki moderator, that confirms that IMVU is monitoring this site very carefully to scrub any negative criticism. Obviously, this is being done with nefarious intent. If you are an investor in IMVU and the company is taking deliberate actions to prevent investors of learning the truth about their severe management turmoil, then certainly they are deliberately trying to deceive their investors. I can only say that I find it absolutely unbelievable the lengths that they go to to prevent criticism from being made public. I and others have repeatedly commented that if they were to spend half this energy actually fixing the problems that cause customer issues to arise....then they wouldn't have the frustrated customers in the first place.

Essentially, this translates to a desire to not be held economically accountable for their business transactions. You can not offer to sell a product and then when your product fails to perform as promised shut your doors and turn the dogs on your customers. Unfortunately, because the dollar amounts involved for any one individual are so small that the courts have no interest in getting involved. So, understand clearly, if you make a monetary transaction with IMVU and they fail to honor services or products for your moneys, you will have no legal recourse. IMVU is fully aware of this and have obviously decided to take advantage of this.
