IMVUPay is a currency exchange service for the 3D Instant Messenger IMVU. The project idea began on January 05, 2006 and was put into motion a few months later in mid-April. After the website launch the one-sided open market exchange began allowing developers of IMVU to register, confirm their e-mail address for verification, and then sign on to transfer virtual currency from IMVU over to IMVUPay. Using a method that no other IMVU Credit Reseller uses, IMVUPay is able to accept Credits instantly - credit the balance on IMVUPay instantly - and then allow instant exchanging of Credits to USD. The sellers market was then born.

2 years have past since the concept and the time of this article. IMVUPay is currently working on deploying it's "version 2.0" website, which scheduled to be released in February of 2008. Some of the new features are as follows: 1.) Buyers Market created in addition to the Sellers Market, so buyers of virtual currency will be able to deposit USD before hand, and request rates. 2.) Transaction-free trading to help encourage traders to get in on virtual currency's ups and downs regarding USD-worth. 3.) Credit earning for people who want to earn real credits instead of paying for them. (Affiliate Program) 4.) Web 2.0 style design that makes it even easier to get around the website. 5.) Instant Buying to allow users to skip registration if need-be, but sacrifice benefits of being verified.

IMVUPay wants to make note that any and all of these features are not necessarily guaranteed - but they are business goals ready for the public.
