İmranlı

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

İmranlı is a town and a district of Sivas Province of Turkey. Population is 6,600 (2005 census). It is located at 108 km to Sivas. It became a district in January 1, 1948, while it was a part of the Zara district. Because of the harsh weather, it is hard to gain agricultural products from the land. Therefore, the main economic activity of the locals is cattle dealing. Many people left İmranlı and immigrated to the big cities of Turkey back in 1970s, a situation that was caused by the lack of social capacity and investment.
