I joined the Middle-earth Wiki Project on the 6^th of October, 2006. I'm currently just adding bits of knowledge here and there, where I can.

About Me

I joined Wikipedia on the 29^th April, 2006.

I am from Perth, in Western Australia, <bias>which is obviously the greatest city in the world</bias>.

I enjoy gaming, anime, read ing, writing short stories, an eclectic range of music, and editing Wikipedia.

I am currently a university student at Murdoch University, studying a double Major in Computer Science & Games Technology.

Sidenotes + Opinions

I despise WikiLawyering (and any other associated form of it), and am saddened that some Wikipedians, seemingly go on power-trips just to do this, as much as there is this policy or that on wikipedia... There are many policies, some even contradict each other... I find they act in practice more as guidelines anyway. Anyway, if you practise wikilawyering at all... GTFO my userpage, lol.

There also seems to be the unfortunate 'war' between inclusionists and deletionists, which tends to polarise the wiki, especially when admins get involved. While it appears (to me) that there is no solution to this problem, it should be noted that it is a problem of Wikipedia. I believe this problem does harm to the wiki and causes 'friction' between editors, which may end up wasting precious time squabbling, instead of editing and improving articles.
Personally, I am an Inclusionist, and I believe that even if it is a stub article, it can always be improved, and I don't see the point in deleting articles and images (unless they are vandalism or non-sensical), as they all make Wikipedia better, Wikipedia shouldn't just contain a small number of elite articles, it should contain those elite articles plus a host of smaller articles and stubs. Also, most articles are useless without pictures, yet they always seem to be the target of deletion... Instead of deleting the said picture, why can't other Wikipedians try and find its source? Or provide an alternate which does have a source. Wikipedia isn't a paper encyclopaedia, it's an online one, and so it can allow for a vastly greater content, so why the need to conserve the few Kb that a stub consists of? (Even Jimbo Wales agrees that Hard disks are cheap). Again I will herald the catch cry of the stereotypical inclusionist and say "Wikipedia is not paper!".
