- The Wu Zetian article lists at least two titles for specific places in this hierarchy. Could we find more? And integrate those?
- it is not clear in the article which end (1a or 8a) is the most prestigious
- historically, how many women were in each rank?
- what were the duties of the consorts? Did they just hang around most of the time?
