[edit] Toraja photos
Hi Imoeng, thanks for asking the picture. Now the article has more life. Cheers. — Indon (reply) — 12:52, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, that would be great. Let's do it together until FA ;-) Anyway, I like the picture of a girl with traditional Toraja picture from the website. That's what Michael wants to be included in the article. BTW, what do you think that we need to get the article reaches FA? — Indon (reply) — 07:34, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
It's a deal. :-) BTW, did you notice a user, named Kmadams, just added a new item in the Further Reading section in the Toraja article? She is, I think, Kathleen M Adams, one expert of Toraja. I've used a lot of her articles in the references. It's good that an expert joined in, huh? I left her a note in her talk page. Wondering whether she replies or not. Cheers. — Indon (reply) — 10:08, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- I don't mind at all. I would be very happy to see other names beside Indon in the article's history. ;-) Well, it is so difficult for me here to do chatting. It's a bit restricted. Sorry for that. — Indon (reply) — 10:25, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Indonesia bot
Hi, I'm happy to make User:MartinBotII do this for you. You can put the message on User:MartinBotII/WPIndonesiaMsg, and then, if you leave me a message on my talk page, I can make the bot do the delivery. Does this sound like a reasonable way for it to operate? I'll get on with writing it, and apply at WP:BRFA for permission. Thanks, Martinp23 14:29, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
- The other alternative is to make the bot look at the page every week, and if then post that (the only problem with this is that it imposes a deadline on you). Martinp23 14:31, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
- OK - if you'd be able to put the message text here, then tell me it's ready on my talk page, then I'll send it (the first run will, pending acceptance at WP:BRFA, be next week). If I know I won't be available one week, I'll set the bot to do it automatically. Actually, thinking about it a bit further (considering the message is always done on Sunday mornings), it would be more reliable to have the bot deliver the message at midnoght/late evening on the Sunday, to avoid me missing the message. Let me know what you think :) Martinp23 14:43, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
- No problem - I'm experimenting with the bot :P - is 2200 on the Sunday (UTC) OK? Martinp23 14:58, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
- Don't worry - you're not trolling at all! (I like the orange banner :)) I'll change the checkpage when I get round to more bot-building (I won't be hard to do). Thanks, Martinp23 17:43, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- OK - about the link, I'll be able to set it up fairly easily - if users who would prefer that get in contact with me, I'll add them to the list. I'll do the delivery of the message a little later today :) Martinp23 08:25, 22 October 2006 (UTC) Sorry for the delay responding - I've been away for a couple of days

[edit] Virtual GA review of Indonesia
Hi Imoeng, sure. However, GA really depends on the reviewer. Some reviewers are so nitpicking, as we had for Indonesia before, but some are not. I'll try to make a GA review with my style, but more nitpicking to the article for this case. In a moment.... ;-) — Indon (reply) — 12:31, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Imoeng, sorry to take 2 days to review Indonesia. I have put the review in my GA assesement template. Please read it and give me a comment. I think the odd is still slim. Prose is the major concern. Cheers. — Indon (reply) — 01:33, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
(hahaha), I know that you would ask the last request. I'll try my best. I think I can help in the sources/citations/references. BTW, if an article is long, then it is less likely to get faster review in GA. FAC is the best place, I think, but the article should get into another PR round one more time. Cheers. — Indon (reply) — 09:32, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Peer review/Religion in Indonesia/archive1
First my apologies - I did not mean to over-do the complexity of the issue, or send too many posts to that page!
My living in Kupang, Yogyakarta and Jakarta in the early 1990's suggested to me that the distinction between Katolik and Protestan was important, I never heard any of my muslim friends at that time ever reduce it to kristen.
I promise you a barnstar (yes) - if you can possibly google the issue - I have my doubts about whether there is anything -to find any references or online articles that
(a) explain religion and indonesian constitution (b) explain the politics of 1945 constitution and why it ended up that way for religion. Best of luck! SatuSuro 09:12, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism of Timeline of heavy metal music
Umm... I'm a little confused here. I'd never even heard of this article before, yet I got a vandalism notice on my talk for supposedly editing it. I'm not in the edit history... then again, neither are you. There's gotta be some interesting story behind this. -- Y|yukichigai 02:59, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] hey
why r u reverting my additions to nellore page?its not vandalism.
- The entries on Wikipedia should based on facts, not personal opinions. Sooner or later it will be deleted. Why don't you create an account? :D Thank you -- Imoeng 07:41, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
I would appreciate it if you would refrain from restoring any edits I make to my user page. Nothing personal, but what I do with that page is my business, not yours. Thanks. 66.90.151.114 08:46, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- Firstly, it is your user "talk" page. And the 3RR template is important for editors and admins to see your previous contributions, also violations. It is also always better to create an account. Cheers -- Imoeng 08:53, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Religion in Indonesia
Hi, I'll make another GA-style review. However, the religious map has been said to be inaccurate several times. At first, I thought that so. Perhaps, UN has some inaccuracies in their data. I am going to fix the map. I will make another religious map, based on Depag's statistics. See ya later. — Indon (reply) — 12:06, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- No, I'm not going to edit the picture. I'm going to use blank Indonesian picture with provinces boundaries and use Depag's data to make colorful notation. So I'm not going to touch the UN picture at all, but hoping to replace with with more accurate and recent data. I've made several maps before: map of ethnic groups in Toraja, map of Bandung at Wikitravel, and map of the Tambora explosion. It's fun, anyway. Cheers. — Indon (reply) — 12:13, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
I'm using Inkscape to create SVG files. You can use other PNG maps as a based and trace its curve to make a scalable vectors. If I don't have a map, then I usually capture images from Google Earth and trace it manually, but it takes so much time (I did that for Bandung). BTW, I'm in the Central Europen zone (+2 GMT). — Indon (reply) — 12:22, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] James Robert Baker
Thank you, Imogen, for your suggestions. I have added a reference section to this article, as well as a fair use photo from a book jacket.
In terms of making the article fatter, do you think I should discuss each of his books separately, with plot points and critical reaction? I can also discuss (and link to) the film adaptation of Testosterone (major film, though box office failure).
I think Baker falls under the Notable people guidelines, as he was a published novelist, reviewed all over the world by the largest newspapers. Let's hope, anyway--I worked hard researching and writing this! If you have time, please have another glance and let me know what you think on the article talk page, or my own.

[edit] footnoting help
Hi again, Imogen,
I cannot add the footnotes to the James Robert Baker article! When I try to and preview it, only partial text shows up--everything after the footnote disappears. Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong? I'm sorry to pester you, but I really want to get this right.Jeffpw 08:17, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the citation help, Imoeng. I was going to do that myself today. I got a list of automated suggestions last night, but it was too late in the evening for me to make the changes. May I ask if you think the article is long enough? The auto suggest said that it should be expanded. I can discuss each of his books indivually, but was wondering if that was overkillJeffpw 08:48, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for adopting me
Hi Imoeng, thanks for the offer of adopting me, which I'd like to accept :-)
I think I'm okay with the basic mechanics of making edits (been browsing the systems used by templating quite a bit - neat system!) but I'm probably going to have various questions about good wikiquette... for instance, I added a section in talk page for Talk:Extras (TV series) saying I thought an update about an accusation of plagarism on the show needed citation since it was controversial, and someone else deleted the plagarism update (presumably in agreement with my talk page update) but should I have 'been bold' and just deleted the update, citing the reason?
I've been monitoring the updates on the pages List_of_neologisms_on_The_Simpsons and Extras (TV series), but perhaps I should focus on some other bits (the neologisms page is a bit pointless since people chuck all sorts of things onto the page - I posted a proposal for restructuring on the talk page but not much entheusiasm to it).
I was going to ask you about reverts, but I've just found the answer on a help page :)
What's the best way of asking questions, is it though talk pages?
Thanks :)
--Mortice 14:36, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for your msg on my talk page. FYI my recent exploits have been in resolving an inconsistency on the page for The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever - of the 7 published books, 4 had their own pages and 3 were summarised on this page, so I moved the summaries into their own pages (as others on the talk page had suggested). And a run-in I had by trying to add a second meaning to the word 'Hipster' - added a disambig page and started new page but it got AfD'd - details can be seen here. All fun peeks into the World of Wiki --Mortice 19:52, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
I'm sure I've seen somewhere a tool which will list the pages in my user area, do you know where that is? I was looking to delete some junk but the help implies I should ignore them unless I have a reason to have them deleted - any thoughts? --Mortice 20:26, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Hiya, in answer to your question about what I've been editing, I've been hopping around making edits here and there wherever's needed, and usually keep an eye on any page I edit (all on my watch list) but not settled anywhere. It would be nice to 'adopt' a page, but whenever I look up any topic that I think I'm knowledgable about, there's always vastly more information on the page than I could ever come up with, and often a healthy set of edits in the recent past, indicating that plenty of people are looking after the page (tho I did eye up Portal:Television which appears to have been developed and then discarded).
So not sure how best to proceed. Is there a Help page relevant to my problem? Perhaps I should plunge into the items listed on Template:The Simpsons to-do tho that's a bit bewildering - do I turn a stub into an article just by webbrowsing and pumping data into it? Tips appreciated --Mortice 18:47, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Clever table pivoting?
Hi, wonder if you have any ideas about this problem...
I'm working on List of songs featured in The Simpsons (interesting topic, plenty of work to be had, and no-one actively updating it).
This is a list of songs, artists and episodes. It would be very neat to have a table on the page also listing episodes and their songs (and perhaps artists and their episodes), ie the same data ordered and presented differently. This is a classic database processing requirement. I'm wondering if Wiki offers any facility for recording lists of data and then displaying them through markup. Otherwise it will be a nightmare keeping the two or three tables in sync.
Any ideas, or who do I ask, or do I just do it the hard way? --Mortice 22:47, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

No, not now. I'll try to reach some supporters first (networking a bit-lah :-)). I've asked Yomangani, and he's copyediting the article right now. We can wait for GA, but GA is not a requirement for FA. Besides, as long as I've been with GA reviewers, GA is very inconsistent the way they review it. — Indon (reply) — 10:45, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
