Immaterial is a Melodic death metal band originating from Rehovot, Israel.

The band was formed by vocalist Guli Garty in February 2003 under the name Captive Fright. Guli started it as he's own project but later on he understood that if he wants the band to reach somewhere, he needs other players, So he started testing players, worked with a lot of people until he finally came up with a full band, while on the way changing the name of the band to "Immaterial".

Later on, because of personal reasons he devided the band and started the whole deal all over again with new players and new material. He ran across Evan Broder in early 2005 and Johnas who studied at his school, and Maor Fisher who was Guli's good friend for a few years joined the team to form the final line-up of the band. And since then, this line-up is active and released their first single "Tide of the Empire" in 2007, which was mixed by Daniel Varfolomeyev of Acropolis.

The band cites In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Nevermore, Hypocrisy, Megadeth, Iron Maiden and Carcass as their influences.[1]

The band is currently working on its debut EP, titled "Manipulating Bloodline (Faking Deaf)", set to be released sometime in 2008.[2]
