IMG Academies

IMG Academies is a multi-sport education/training facility located in Bradenton, Florida. It offers boarding, non-boarding, and weekly programs for athletes that desire intense, professional instruction. IMG Academies is owned and controlled by talent management company IMG. IMG Academies consists of The Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, The David Leadbetter Golf Academy, The Baseball, Softball, Basketball, Soccer and Officiating Academies, and the Performance Institute.

In 1978, tennis coach Nick Bollettieri and directors Ted Meekma and Greg Breunich formed the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy. IMG purchased the NBTA in 1987. Over the next several years, IMG expanded the school to include academies for golf, baseball, soccer, and basketball, spread out over a 300-acre (1.2 km²) campus [1]. Thousands of students come from 80 countries to receive professional instruction, both for short-time camp programs and full-time semester programs. The Academy is utilized by numerous professional athletes during their off-seasons. IMG Academies offers instruction and facilities for golf, tennis, mental conditioning, baseball, basketball, officiating, and soccer.[1]

IMG Academies is a gated, 300-acre (1.2 km²) campus consisting of golf driving ranges and practice facilities, 58 tennis courts, baseball fields, turf training fields, seven soccer fields, indoor basketball facilities, sports performance facilities, gyms, clubhouses, the IMG Academies Golf and Country Club, U Miami satellite campus and dormitories. It has two cafeterias (one for adults and professionals and one for students) and has an on-campus restaurant for students in the evening. There are two pools and one Jacuzzi.
