Imbas forosnai
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Imbas forosnai, also known as Himbas Forosnai, Imbus For Osna, and Imus For Osna, is a special gift of clairvoyance believed to be possessed by the poets, particularly the Ollam of the Fili, in Early Ireland.
Some practitioners of Celtic Reconstructionist Paganism are working to reconstruct trance and visionary techniques that were used by the filid, such as imbas forosnai and aspects of the tarbhfeis ritual.
Imbas forosnai is heavily featured in Jim Ferustelli's magnum opus, Mysticism in the Poetic Societies of Early Ireland: a Short Novel.
