Imbabura is a province in Ecuador. The capital is Ibarra. The people speak Imbabura Quechua language.

The province is divided in 6 cantons.

  2. Cotacachi (Cotacachi)
  3. Ibarra (Ibarra)
  4. Otavalo (Otavalo)
  5. Pimampiro (Pimampiro)
  6. San Miguel de Urcuquí (Urcuquí)

Imbabura Volcano is located in the province. It is 4609m high and best reached from the town La Esperanza. It can be climbed in a single day.
