User has few mainspace edits and mostly uploads self-work sketches of Wentworth Miller and personal photos. Personal photos definitely against WP:NOT#WEBSPACE. Sketches may be used for ID but I've never seen such use. Kelvinc (talk) 05:48, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

  • These images were both deleted in July for being replaceable. An editor asked for their restoration. Since the rationale (the fact that taking a close picture of a cable/logo primarily for identification purposes would still be fair use), I think it warrants at least a discussion -- lucasbfr talk 12:18, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
  • Keep with proper rationales. A brief note on the image description reminding users to render the image at a low resolution (as given in {{Brands of the World SVG}}) would be a good idea, as would categorization in Cat:Vector images of trademarks. How exactly are these replaceable by a free image? Unless the uploader had tagged them as, say {{PD-self}} and {{trademark}}, which I don't think would have been appropriate.   • Keep non-replaceable and the images are so simple that the resolution in which they are used is not really relevant. The copyright holders themselves hardly use them at a size over 2x2 cm, which is an indication that uses at larger sizes are not really a normal "commercial" usecase for them. I have seen the firewire logo on large banners, but then it's usually the yellow and shadowed version. --TheDJ (talk • contribs) 13:40, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
  • I'm having trouble understanding the reasoning for calling them "replaceable" in the first place? As in, can be replaced with another non-free image? Wouldn't that one be replaceable with this one, then? —Random832 14:24, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
  • Comment - the only "copyrighted" USB logo, is the actual USB logo, not the trident. The Firewire logo however, is copyrighted to Apple Inc.ViperSnake151 15:45, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
  • Keep - I don't think they're actually replaceable, as they're protected by copyright and/or trademark. So just add proper rationales and tag them as fair use. -- The Last User Name Ever (talk) 15:24, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
  • Comment/Keep - I believe we should all look at this file. I've uploaded a new version of the file, following the guidelines :leaving proper border; using the coloured logo instead of the old symbol which is for use on hardware products only.
