[edit] Summary

Description

This is an Imari porcelain jar 63 inches tall, 25 inches in diameter; it was exhibited in the World's Columbian Exposition and Pan-American Exposition. It was donated to the Pollard Memorial Library in Lowell, Massachusetts, in 1909 and is currently held there. The library claims it to be the largest porcelain specimen produced in Japan in perfect order and that it was produced "by KANZO, the best artist of his time in Japan."

[edit] Licensing:

As for the photo:

I would like credit where used, but my tolerance for legalese for stuff like this doesn't extend to using a CC license. Just be nice.

As for the jar in the photo:

It could be free world-round, but I don't know exactly how old it is, or who Kanzo is.
