To include this template on a page, simply copy the contents of the table to the left and fill in the appropriate fields.

Different inputs will lead to a different viewer output, as follows:

canpage
This is the link to a page where a list of the candidates is found. Leave blank if candidates are listed on same page as templat. Use the article name without square brackets, eg. canpage = List of The Apprentice UK candidates.
seriesname
The name of the series should go here, in italics, eg. [[The Apprentice (UK)|''The Apprentice UK'']]
series
Put the name of the series here, eg. Series 4 (2008)
image
Place the name of an image here, either the logo or an image of the candidates for the specific series. Do not use square brackets, simply the image link, eg. Image:ApprenticeCandidates.jpg
imagebg
This will create a background colour for the image, eg. imagebg = black will give a black background.

As can be seen, there are 3 fields for each candidate - any unused candidates will not appear on the list.

canx
Input the candidate's name here. This will automatically link to the relevant section on that candidate.
canx-week
Put the week or episode in which the candidate left the show here. Eg, Episode 1 or Week 4.
canx-stat
This refers to the candidate's current status, it MUST be filled in for all candidates with one of the following:
  • hired - the winner, obviously only for use once a series has finished. Appears as green.
  • runner - the runner-up, also only for use once a series has finished. Appears as blue.
  • fired - fired. Appears as red.
  • resigned - resigned. Appears as yellow.
  • other - For other uses, see section below. Appears as orange.
  • none - probably the most important. Use for current series where a candidates is still in the competition - this MUST be used as leaving it empty will create white boxes.

Whilst most series will require the same legend for each colour, it is possible to create your own legend for each colour. NB. All fields must be filled in for them to appear below the candidate list.

legendhired
Typically input Hired here.
legendrunner
Typically input Runner-up here.
legendfired
Typically input Fired here.
legendresigned
Typically input 'Resigned' here.
legendother
This field can be used for other purposes, simply type in the relevant legend.
