[edit] Sources and licenses

Hey, thanks for uploading Image:Boris_Bukhovtsev_at_a_Physics_Fight_(YPT_1979).jpg, Image:Evgeny_Velikhov_at_1st_IYPT_Moscow_1988.jpg, and Image:Hungarian_team_at_2nd_IYPT_1989_Moscow.jpg. I noticed that the files' description pages currently don't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. We need to know the owner of the copyright, in order to use the image. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:54, 7 October 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 12:54, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Boris_Nadezhdin_as_a_participant_of_YPT_1979_Moscow.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Boris_Nadezhdin_as_a_participant_of_YPT_1979_Moscow.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Rettetast 13:03, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Boris_Nadezhdin_as_a_participant_of_YPT_1979_Moscow.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Boris_Nadezhdin_as_a_participant_of_YPT_1979_Moscow.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 13:03, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Georgian reports of early IYPTs

Hi, I began translating that webpage for you but the information there is about Georgian teams only and I don't think it is what you're looking for --Felizdenovo (talk) 19:18, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi! Thank you very much! I'm interested in any factual information. Names of the Georgian participants and team leaders are interesting as well. It is possible that other contributors to the IYPT article support the idea to add these (and other) names to the timeline. Very little is known about 1992 and 1993, and therefore even the information about the achievements of a few teams (like Georgia, Slovakia, Russia, Poland...) may help to clarify the ranking tables.
I'm also wondering if the article claims that the IYPT in 1996 was held in Tskhaltubo, or in Kutaissi (it is quite controversial in other sources). --Ilya Martchenko 21:02, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hello!

Finally found you - I'm the guy from school no. 30 who translated the Danish text about the connection between astroblasters and supernovas. Could you please remind me the address of that Danish website, since I'm eager to see what they've got there, but I lost that piece of paper on which the webaddress was scribbled( GoldengloveContribs · Talk 10:52, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Dear Goldenglove, I am very pleased to hear from you. :-) Do you contribute to the Danish and Russian Wikipedias as heavily as you do to the English section?
I greatly appreciate your interest in the problem on astroblaster. The link was to this web page. I have just added it to the updated version of the advice kit. I am not sure that this talk page is the best place for discussing YPT problems. :-)) Please, feel free to contact me via email and don't hesitate to join our forthcoming events. Best regards --Ilya Martchenko 19:51, 22 March 2008 (UTC).
If only I knew your e-mail:) Best send a letter to me (lewislavey@yahoo.com), and then I'll be able to write to you. Thanks a lot for the link, I really appreciate it) GoldengloveContribs · Talk 11:28, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
