Could this Illsensine that lives in the dark caverns be an avatar of Illsensine rather than the actual deity? I thought deities can't come to the prime material plane in thier true forms (except in cases where they are special things/inanimate objects like the moons of Krynn) or they can, but it's an agreement by the other deities not to, and they would utterly destroy the offender. On Hallowed Ground says deities in thier true forms kill by presence alone.

And, I read in Monster Mythology (a 2E supplement) that Illsensine did create illithids. I also wonder what his avatar was in the time of troubles when he was mortalized. The snare 09:17, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Can we get something about his involvement with / creation of the cranium rats?
